The Tale Of Kitsuna

Chapter 22

“You have an hour to get ready.” The man said.

“Is Mother is going with us?”

“It’s your birthday and the first day seeing your status. Of course, she is coming.”

“I see. I will be on time, Father.”

“Then I will excuse myself,” Father said, standing up and walking out of the room.

“Okay, see you in a while, Father.” Standing up, I went to the mirror. Looking into the mirror, I saw a 5-year-old girl with long silver hair and silver eyes. She also had 2 cat ears on her head. She also had a long silver tail if you look behind her.

“Haah, I wonder what sort of powers I will receive.” Smiling at myself, I went and got ready for the day.

.....

(40 minutes later)

Walking out of our mansion. I saw dad standing next to a woman with silver hair and silver eyes. She was wearing a long black dress. You could see that the dress was tight around her arms and waist. When she heard me, she looked at me with a frown.

“Brat, what took you so long!” She said aggressively at me. Looking at my watch, I saw that I was only busy for 40 minutes.

“Father said I have an hour. I am also early. I still have 20 minutes left.” I said calmly.

“Don’t get cheeky with your mother, brat,” She said, smiling and rubbing my head. “Well, let’s get on the road.”

We started walking towards our carriage. Looking at my father, I could see that he had his white suit on. He also had his sword on his waist. I haven’t left my house many times, but I knew both my parents were part of the military. The only thing that confused me was that my mother was a pure human. In comparison, my dad was a cat-kin with a special bloodline. This contrary doesn’t like different races marrying each other. Well, it didn’t bother me that much because they were my parents, after all.

(2 hours later)

“We have finally arrived.” Mother said.

“Yeah, why did it take so long,” I ask with confusion.

“That is because we are doing it in the main church of the capital. There will be a ceremony for all the other noble kids that are doing it today.” Dad explained while opening the door.

Walking out, you could see at least another 14 families waiting outside of the church. Taking my eyes of the families, I looked at the church. It was a 4 story high white building with a lot of glass in it. Stairs were going up to a big door that is most likely the entrance to the church.

“Stacy, come, let’s go.” My mother patted my shoulder and walked past me.

“Yes, mother.” Following her, we went closer to the entrance.

10 minutes later, the bell of the church started to ring. With the bell rings, the doors started to open up. When the doors were completely open, priests started walking out. The way they were walking made it look like they were floating. A while later, all of them stopped and made way for the church’s head priest, I presume. While the head priest was walking out of the church, he started talking.

“Praise The Angels. Seek The Angels. Worship The Angels. Trust The Angels. The heavens declare the glory of the Angels; the skies proclaim the work of their hands. Day after day, they pour forth speech; night after night, they reveal knowledge.” Stopping at the top of the stairs, he looked at everyone and started talking again. “May all the children that will be joining step today forward.” Doing as he said, I walked closer and stood next to the other children. “Today is the day that you, the child of our wonderful Angels, will reserve your blessings. Know come follow me, children.”

Doing as he said, we all started walking into the church, leaving our parents outside. When we all came into the main hall, we all were called to stop. After we were standing still, a priest started explaining what will happen and what we must do.

“You will change into the clothes we will give you. after that, we will again go back to the entrance to the church. But stay behind me in a line. I will tell you when you may go out, okay. When I tell you to go out, I want you to stand in front of the black plate that will stand outside. You will see it. when you get in front of it, put your hands on it, okay.” Everyone nodded, and he started giving out robes for everyone.

We all put the robes on and started to line up. I took my time and ended up at the very end of the line. Looking around, I saw that the priest from before went and stood at the front. Not long after, we started moving to the entrance again.

Stopping again just before exiting the church. The man started talking again.

“You ready, children.” He smiled and made the first boy walkout. We all looked at him how he went to the black plate and put his hand s on it. After a couple of seconds, the plate light up, and something show on it. Everyone started clapping outside, and the boy had a smile on his face.

“It seems he got a good status.” the bot in front of me said.”

“ooh, is that what it shows?” I ask.

“Yes, didn’t your parents explain everything for you?”

“No, I didn’t even know we will be going out today.” I shrugged.

“Well, that plate takes your mana from you. through taking your mana, it will get all the details about you. after that, it shows a screen where your status will be shown for everyone to see.” The boy explains.

“Ooh, thank you.” I thanked the boy and looked back outside. This went on for the rest of us until it was my turn.

“Okay, you are the last one. May the Angels bless you.” The priest said

Nodding, I walked out. Looking around while walking to the plate, I saw my mother and father standing at every one’s back. Smiling and waving at them. Stopping in front of the plate, I put my hands on it. A while later, the plate light up and showed my status.

‘What is Soul link?’

Looking at my parents, I saw my mother with a big proud smile on her face, but my fathers’ face was full of worry.

“What a great weapon she will make for the Federation!?” Hearing someone shout, I looked in the direction to see a man with short silver hair with a gold crown on top. He also had the same eyes as my mother. Looking at him, I frown. I knew who he was. Everyone does. Even me, a 5-year-old.

“Your Majesty!?” Someone shouted in surprise. Everyone bowed down on one knee and looked down, showing their respect towards the King.

“Brother, what are you doing here?” Hearing my mother’s voice and what she called the King. I looked up in surprise.

“Of course, I am here to see my lovely niece.” He smiled at my mother.
